About 10 million wild salmon have gone missing from Canadian shores this past year, prompting officials to launch an investigation. According to government predictions, 13 million sockeye salmon were expected to return to Canadian rivers to spawn. Instead, fewer than 2 million returned prompting fears of a population collapse.

A swarm of giant jellyfish is being blamed for the sinking of a 10-ton fishing boat off the coast of Chiba in Japan. The trawler named Diasan Shinsho-maru was in the process of pulling in their nets containing dozens of large Nomura’s jellyfish when the accident happened.
