Al Hornsby - Al Hornsby was 12 when his family moved to Guam, in Micronesia. That first time he put on a mask and slipped beneath the surface is still an indelible memory.

He began taking pictures underwater, then branched out into general freelance photography, doing posters, racing, fashion, wildlife, and rock and roll concerts. But in the end, it always came back to diving, and he finally set out for Los Angeles in search of the dive industry.

Fortunately he found it, and became a part of PADI's management team and eventually one of the developers of Project AWARE. He enjoyed a several year stint as editorial director at Skin Diver magazine along the way, and returned to PADI a few years ago where he is a Senior Vice President for PADI Worldwide. Entwined with it all, however, is diving and shooting as much as he can.
