Every raw file requires some degree of sharpening to help mitigate the softness that occurs during the digital capture process. Not to be confused with “output sharpening” that’s typically applied at the end of your workflow, camera raw sharpening, or “capture sharpening,” is designed to restore initial image sharpness.
